Some where in deep Africa a forest elephant rumbles.
Habitat improvises and reacts musically to images and sounds of species in crisis within their natural habitat. The immersive and captivating performance uses recordings of the endangered African forest elephant from the Elephant Listening Project (ELP) at Cornell University. Members of Habitat are: Vicki Hallett (woodwinds and loops), Steve Falk (percussion) and Jeremy Alsop (bass).

Jeremy Alsop has made many substantial contributions to Australian classical, jazz, rock, pop, folk and cutting edge experimental music consistently for over thirty years.

Steve Falk is a member of Nunique Quartet, Ensemble Density and has appeared with the Melbourne Guitar Quartet, Speak Percussion, Chamber Made Opera, Bolt Ensemble and with numerous leading contemporary improvisers both in Australia and Japan.

Vicki Hallett is a composer, musician and sound artist. She has composed, produced and performed in live concerts, solo recordings ranging from chamber music to sound art and acoustic ecology and many collaborations.
